NEWS FROM THE FAITH VIERA QUILTERS
QUILTING COLOR MAGIC
PRAYER BEARS
Presentation
of our 2008 Habitat for Humanity quilt to Avianve
We have started our third Habitat for Humanity
quilt, using an antique quilt pattern called Shoo Fly done in beautiful
donated fabrics. It is amazing what you can do with fabric samples
from decorator stores in scrap quilting patterns
We continue to work on small quilts for the Pregnancy
Center as well as Quillows for foster children. Patterns are available
as well as some fabrics. You may choose to use your own patterns and
fabrics. The baby quilts should be no larger than 36 x 44 inches and
preferably backed with Polar Fleece which keep them light weight rather than
the traditional batting and backing.
PRAYER BEAR PROJECT
Hi, I am a Prayer Bear. The Art & Quilting
Workshop has been asked to consider making these adorable friends for
hospitalized and ill children. They take very little time and are so-o-o-o
appreciated.
Come and learn how to put these little Polar Fleece
bears together and enjoy the fellowship of caring people who like to sew.
This can also be an "at home" project for those who can not come to our
meetings. If you have about an hour and a half to share and are
interested in this project, call Mary Campbell at 727-3827 for details
